All skill levels welcome. Bring water and a basketball if you have one.

Science Night at the Discovery Centre

Take part in hands-on activities and a captivating science show, where we’ll dive into the wonders of nature through exciting demonstrations and uncover how the forces of the natural world shape life on Earth. Put your skills to the test with fun challenges — test your knowledge for a chance to win a prize pack! Bring your curiosities to Ask a Scientist! or take part in the Nature Trading Program by bringing your own items to trade and collect points. Plus, explore Science North’s permanent installations – the THINK Hub, Northern Nature Exchange, and Jane Goodall’s Reasons for Hope.

Matiowski Farmers' Market

The Matiowski Farmers' Market is back for the 20th year on the Kenora Harbourfront under the Jarnel Contracting Pavilion. 

Running every Wednesday for 17 weeks, June 11 through October 1, 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with over 100 local and regional vendors weekly.

You will find produce, meat, treats, artisans, crafters, jewellers, community groups and so much more.

Service dogs only allowed under the tent due to Health and Safety.

Household Hazardous Waste Depot

9:00 AM | 401 Mellick Avenue, Kenora

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) depot is open on Saturdays, from June 7 to Spetmbe 27.
 
This is a FREE once-a-week service for residential customers only.
  • Saturdays 
  • 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Kenora Transfer Station, 401 Mellick Avenue
  • You must cross the scale to the HHW depot. 
  • No line ups for the HHW depot are allowed before 9:00 a.m.
  • The HHW depot closes promptly at 2:00 p.m.

Older Adults Expo

9:00 AM | 240 Veterans Drive, Kenora, ON

Age-Friendly Kenora, with support from the City of Kenora and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Gaming, is hosting an Older Adults Expo on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m at Seven Generations Manidoo Baawaatig in Kenora.
 
Featured sessions will include:
  • Technology: It's an option!
  • Healthy Eating on a Budget
  • Art Expression
  • Aging in Place: Accessible Homes
 
With Keynote Speaker, Linda Brown, Executive Director of Active Aging Manitoba, which strives for the ageless engagement of older adults in healthy choices and behaviours that contribute to physical, social, and mental wellness, independence, and quality of life.
 
The event will also showcase local support organizations and there will be a light lunch for attendees.
 
Registration is free and can be completed online or by calling Colette at 807-407-2825.
