Household Hazardous Waste Depot

9:00 AM | 401 Mellick Avenue, Kenora

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) depot is open on Saturdays, from June 7 to Spetmbe 27.
 
This is a FREE once-a-week service for residential customers only.
  • Saturdays 
  • 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Kenora Transfer Station, 401 Mellick Avenue
  • You must cross the scale to the HHW depot. 
  • No line ups for the HHW depot are allowed before 9:00 a.m.
  • The HHW depot closes promptly at 2:00 p.m.

Historical Walking Tour of Downtown Kenora, Then and Now

1:30 PM | 300 Main Street South, Kenora

Come hear the stories of the first buildings that lined the street of 1880s Rat Portage and see how others have stood the test of time. With visual aids and commentary from the Lake of the Woods Museum curator Rick Brignall, prepare to learn about the history of downtown Kenora, Then and Now.

July 12 and 19, and August 2 and 9, at 1:30 p.m.

Tour starts and ends at the Kenora Cenotaph in front of the Lake of the Woods Museum. Walk-ups welcome!

$15 per person

$13.50 for MUSE members

Tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours and involves walking around downtown Kenora.

Matiowski Farmers' Market

8:30 AM | 1 Bernier Drive, Kenora, ON P9N 1S4

The Matiowski Farmers' Market is back for the 20th year on the Kenora Harbourfront under the Jarnel Contracting Pavilion. 

Running every Wednesday for 17 weeks, June 11 through October 1, 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with over 100 local and regional vendors weekly.

You will find produce, meat, treats, artisans, crafters, jewellers, community groups and so much more.

Service dogs only allowed under the tent due to Health and Safety.

Lake of the Woods Cemetery Tours

7:30 PM | 750 Ninth Street North, Kenora

From true crime and murder mysteries to the Ontario-Manitoba border war, sickness and disease, and one of the most famous bank robberies in Canadian History, these stories will give you a view of Kenora’s history like you've never heard before.

Every Wednesday in July and August at 7:30 p.m.

Meet at the Lake of the Woods Cemetery garage. Walk-ups welcome!

$15 per person

$13.50 for MUSE members

Tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours and involves walking on paved paths and uneven grass.

Your guide is Rick Brignall, Museum Curator.
